About

Arbor Gallery was founded in 1982 by a group of Merced Artists who felt the need to have a place to show their work and to promote art in the community. The group worked diligently and in 1984 Arbor Gallery was born. The Arbor Gallery formed a co-operative group and was invited by the Merced Multicultural Arts Center to rent space in their tiny storefront offices on Arbor Way, thus the name Arbor Gallery.  The Gallery expanded and moved with the MCAC to their various locations.  From the nine original members, the Gallery continues to grow.

The Arbor Gallery promotes art and art education to the community by providing various activities open to the public such as exhibits, paint parties, and special events. The Arbor Gallery offers exceedingly versatile medias including oil, acrylic, alcohol ink, pastel and watercolor paintings, photography, fabric art, turned exotic wood, pottery, jewelry, candles and glass art.  Many Gallery artists are nationally known and exhibit and sell their work in galleries throughout the country.
